{"id":367,"date":"2018-01-29T17:59:06","date_gmt":"2018-01-29T17:59:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sarvepalli.net\/story\/?p=367"},"modified":"2025-10-24T02:25:52","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T02:25:52","slug":"the-french-sparrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ericavijay.net\/story\/2018\/01\/the-french-sparrow\/","title":{"rendered":"The French Sparrow Song"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">&#8211; A poem of meditation when I was stuck in Paris flying back from Abidjan, Cote d&#8217;Ivoire<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> by Vijay Sarvepalli<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Stuck in the transit between these two worlds<br \/>\nI pause in Paris, when I stumbled upon these birds<br \/>\nThey do not stop singing even when sky is not blue<br \/>\nMaybe because they still believe their creator is true<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>All I can say <em>&#8220;Little sparrow play on your harp&#8221;<\/em><br \/>\nDon\u2019t let us with our inventions make you stop<br \/>\nYour voice is in union with millions of others<br \/>\nthanking a great God who seems but unheard<\/p>\n<p>Job himself said &#8220;Ask the beasts, they will teach you&#8221;<br \/>\nhe continued &#8220;the birds of the heaven, they will tell you&#8221;<br \/>\nWhat do they tell us?
